Tyson's Run

‘Tyson's Run’ follows the story of Tyson (Major Dodson), an unathletic boy with autism that dreams of being a marathon champion. His life is completely transformed when he enrols in public school for the first time at the age of fifteen. Tyson meets marathon runner Aklilu (Barkhad Abdi) while helping his father clean up after the football team.

Tyson refuses to allow his autism to hold him back, and he sets out to run his first marathon in the hopes of earning his father's approval. He learns that with faith in oneself and the courage to take those first steps, anything is possible.

Rory Cochrane, Amy Smart, and Reno Wilson also joined Dodson and Abdi in the film. Among this incredible cast, the fact that Dodson, who played Tyson, is an autistic actor makes his portrayal of Tyson more natural and convincing.

Kim Bass, both the director and screenwriter of the film, is supported by Iconic Events Releasing and Collide Distribution. Bass revealed that he felt the need to create ‘Tyson's Run’, embracing autism as a medium to demonstrate that everyone is gifted, special, and deserves the chance to grow and be the greatest person they can be.
