The Road Dance

'The Road Dance' is the story of a Scottish girl named Kristy Macleod living in 1916 just before the first World War. The movie is an adaptation of the novel written by John MacKay and was inspired by a true story.

Kristy lives in a community on the secluded Isle of Lewis in Scotland where she fell in love with local boy Murdo MacAulay. They both dream of immigrating to the United States of America and leaving the island life to see what the rest of the world has to offer.

But destiny said otherwise when a chain of tragedies struck them both as World War I arrives. First came news of Murdo’s conscription in the Great War, where his return after the war is uncertain. Then Kristy got a head injury with memory loss just before Murdo left for the war.

Hermione Corfield from 'We Hunt Together' (2020-2022) TV series plays Kristy with Will Fletcher from 'The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power' (2022) as Murdo. Also in the cast are Mark Gatiss from 'Operation Mincemeat' (2021) and Morven Christie from 'The Bay' (2019-2021) TV series.
