The Devil's Light

Daniel Stamm is returning to the exorcism sub-genre after his 2010’s hit ‘The Last Exorcism’, with the upcoming film ‘The Devil's Light’. CBS' ‘Salvation’s actress Jacqueline Byers will be portraying the movie's main protagonist, Sister Ann.

The restless 25-year-old nun is about to break the norm where only priests are allowed to perform exorcisms. Supported by her mentor, Dr. Peters (Virginia Madsen), Sister Ann's devotion to exorcism becomes personal as a demonic force, overshadowing the institution, indicates mysterious ties to her past.

The story focuses on Sister Ann, a 25-year-old nun who believes performing exorcisms is her life's work, while the religious institution to which she belongs only provides training, on the other hand, to priests.

The story was written by Robert Zappia, who is best known for ‘Halloween H20: 20 Years Later’. The film was initially to be directed by James Hawes of ‘Black Mirror’ and ‘Penny Dreadful’ before it went to Stamm.

Stamm is also known for his involvement in some episodes of ‘Scream: The TV Series’, ‘Into The Dark’, and ‘Fear the Walking Dead’. This Gold Circle Films production would be the first feature-length film directed by the German director after seven years.
