'The Contractor' tells the story of James Harper, who has been discharged from the United States Army Special Forces for doping a drug used to relieve pain from a knee injury.

Facing financial ruin, Harper decides to support his family by working for a private military company with his best friend Mike, under the command of a fellow veteran Rusty Jennings. While on a secret mission abroad, Harper must avoid those who try to kill him on his return home.

Taking the main role of James Harper, this film is Chris Pine's comeback era since he last starred in 'Wonder Woman 1984' (2020) as Steve Trevor. The film also stars Ben Foster and Kiefer Sutherland as the closest characters to James Harper.

Ben Foster has previously appeared in several projects in films of various genres, including '3:10 Yuma' (2007), 'Program' (2015) and 'Leave No Trace' (2018). Meanwhile, Kiefer Sutherland is an actor formerly best known as Jack Bauer from the Fox drama series '24'. The film also features several other supporting actors such as Gillian Jacobs, Eddie Marsan, J.D. Pardo, and Florian Munteanu.
