‘Encanto’ tells the story of the Madrigal family that lives in an enchanted version of Columbia. Stephanie Beatriz, best known for her role as Detective Rosa Diaz in NBC’s ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’, will be lending her voice to bring Mirabel Madrigal, the main character, to life.

Living in a family where each member is granted unique magical abilities, Mirabel is facing frustration as she was granted none. The young girl later discovers that she might be the only one to save magic when a threat appears.

Directed by Byron Howard and Jared Bush, co-directed by Charise Castro Smith, produced by Clark Spencer and Yvett Merino, the movie has its songs written by the award-winning actor, singer, songwriter, producer, and playwright Lin-Manuel Miranda. His recent works include ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ (2015), ‘Moana’ (2016), and ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ (2019).

Eight original songs were written for the computer-animated musical fantasy comedy film in both Spanish and English. The movie was first proposed to Howard and Miranda by John Lasseter in 2016, who was the chief creative officer of Walt Disney Animation Studios back then.
