Brighton Pier

If you’ve been lucky enough to visit the south coast of England during the summer months, you may well be familiar with the vast array of outdoor activities on offer. If not, there are some excellent treats in store for you. If you’ve never visited Sussex or if you’re looking for something new to do with friends or family this summer, here are some brilliant ideas to get you started:

Catch A Movie On Brighton's Beachfront Big Screen

With the first Brighton beach cinema debuting in 2012 as a free screening platform for the Olympic Games, the Luna Beach Cinema has now become the official big screen of Brighton, showing a variety of popular movies for all ages to enjoy.

Featuring a 10-metre LED screen, this is a summer cinematic experience not to be missed. Visitors can purchase hot food and drinks onsite, and opt to hire either deck chairs or a beach hut for a ‘VIP’ outdoor cinema experience.

In true British fashion, screenings go ahead come rain or shine (thunderstorms are treated more cautiously!) Bookings can be made online, with general admission free for afternoon showings.

Check out lunabeachcinema.com for more information on dates, screenings and prices.

Pick And Eat At The Roundstone's Pick Your Own Farm

Fresh strawberries for Wimbledon, apples for autumn crumbles and more veg than you can find in a Tesco superstore, the Roundstone’s Pick Your Own Farm is a delightful way to spend a sunny day out.

Pick up your punnets at the entrance (or, even better, bring your own containers!) and jump on the tractor for a free ride to your field of choice. Of course, everything is grown seasonally so it’s worth keeping an eye on roundstonefarm.co.uk/available-crops to see what you can pick (or dig up!) during your visit.

Open May to September from 9 am until 5 pm, seven days a week, the farm also sells ice-creams for those hot days, and the farm shop is located just across the car park.
