Cephalonia Island, Greece
The blue waters of mainland Greece are ever-inviting

With stunning landscapes and virtually guaranteed warm weather, holidays to Greece have been a favourite among Brits for decades.

Tucked Away

Tucked away in south-eastern Europe, it is one of the most popular holiday destinations in the world. With an endless coast bathed by the inviting waters of the Mediterranean, the country enjoys a long summer season plus a perfect mix of culture, history, beaches and nightlife.

A Warm Welcome

What possibly makes Greece stand out, however, is the country’s legendary hospitality which is ingrained in the culture. For the ancient Greeks, it was an act of virtue to welcome strangers in their home – believed to have been sent by the gods.

Today, hospitality remains important and is extended to tourists throughout the year – with many locals offering visitors treats of food and drink. The cuisine alone can be a big draw for holidaymakers. There are many places to eat well and cheaply with street food such as souvlaki and pita with gyros being readily available. Many traditional dishes are famous across the world but it is difficult to beat eating a moussaka or kleftiko in its country of origin.
